April 16, 2011 witnessed the opening ceremony of the 4th Peking University Government CIO class, which gathered 120 government CIO officials from across the country. They will learn a comprehensive information system theory and methods in this class. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Yao Yue, Secretary-General of Peking University Informatization and Information Management Research Center and Office Director of Peking University CIO class. Deputy Director of Information Management Department of Peking University, Wang Zizhou delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the department; Mr. Ni Guangnan from Chinese Academy of Engineering and Research Center, and Jiang Qiping, Secretary-General of Chinese Academy of Social Information made speeches in the opening ceremony under the title of "Cloud Computing and Strategy in China" and "Content and Role of Information ".
In the afternoon, Mr. Yang Xueshan, Deputy Minister of Information Industry and adjunct Professor of Information Management Department of Peking University again had a workshop with the students of the Peking University CIO class. As a scholar, Yang gave brilliant answers on various issues, and was admired much by all students. Minister Yang said: "Information technology has become an irreversible trend in today's world, as each person, every institution, every field, every country and region is going through this change. Informatization needs for a comprehensive and balanced and coordinate information technology, industry, resources, applications, security, and all aspects should move towards the direction of integration, convergence and intelligence.
It is reported that Ruijie formally established strategic cooperative relations with Peking University in early 2008, and began to focus on cultivating Chinese government CIO talents. Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Yang Xueshan, Head of Information Management Department of Peking University Wang Yuguang, Director of National Information Resources Management Beijing Research Base Lai Maosheng, and Ruijie Government and Operators Department General Manager Hu Pengju cut the ribbon together for launching ceremony of "the Chinese Government CIO Training Program". The main feature of the government CIO class is the combination of "east and west philosophy". The courses not only include a large number of western standards of information management framework, methodology and structured way of thinking, but also Chinese essence of "how to interact with people", so "technology" and "humanity" are effectively integrated into the CIO class, thus enhancing the leadership of information and the ability to manage change.
