The hardware versions 2.3 and 3.2 of RG-ES218GC-P switch deal with loud fan noise by stopping the fan from running.

The hardware version 2.3 of RG-ES226GC-P switch deals with loud fan noise by stopping the fan from running.

New hardware version

New hardware versions of RG-ES218GC-P switch are supported: 2.2 and 3.1.

1.2   Requirements

The system can be upgraded from a previous version.

1.3   Important Pointsto Remember

l  Upgradecan be performed in the field only after successful experimental verification.

l  Pleaseperform a database backup before upgrading the device.

l  Pleasedo not power off the device, reset the system or remove any modules if afailure prompt appears.

l  Afteran upgrade to the new version, navigate to Eweb > Local > Home> Basics to verify the version information, including the softwareversion number, SN and model. See Upgrade Procedure for details.

1.4   Upgrade Procedure

l  Connect the device with a PC and configure thePC with an IP address in network segment 10.44.77.10/255.255.255.0.

l  Power on the device. After the system LED turnssolid on, open a browser, enter 10.44.77.200 into the address bar and pressEnter.

l  Log into the system and complete wizardconfiguration.

l  Use the bin file for online upgrade.and click Upload.After an upgrade to the new version, verify the version information.

l  During the upgrade and downgrade, pay attentionto the prompt messages. If failures occur, please save the log and contact usfor technical assistance.

l  During the upgrade and downgrade, it isrecommended you not power off or reset the system, or plug/unplug any module.

*     Note

If you forgot you password, press and holdthe Reset button for over 5 seconds, and the password will be reset tothe default setting. Upon the next reboot, you can select restoration to eitherfactory settings or the previous version.
