Product Overview
RG-AP820-X is an 802.11ax-compliant dual-radio wireless Access Point (AP) provided by Ruijie Networks for higher education, government, general education, finance, business, and other indoor scenarios. With a dual-radio design, the RG-AP820-X delivers a combined data rate of 2.976 Gbps, with up to 574 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and 2.402 Gbps in the 5 GHz band. The ultra-fast wireless rate eliminates the performance bottleneck.
The design of the RG-AP820-X considers factors including wireless network security, radio control, mobile access, quality of service (QoS), seamless roaming, and Internet of Things (IoT) scalability. The RG-AP820-X can be used with Ruijie's access controller (AC) to implement wireless client data forwarding, security features, and access control.
The RG-AP820-X is compliant with 802.11ax, 802.11ac Wave2, 802.11ac Wave1, and 802.11n. It can be installed on a wall or ceiling. The RG-AP820-X supports local power supply and power over Ethernet (PoE), which is suitable for deployment in scenarios covering warehouses, offices, conference centers, and corridors.
Product Features
High-Speed Wireless Access and Energy-Saving Design for High Reliability
1024-QAM High-Speed Access
The RG-AP820-X adopts the dual-radio design and complies with the next-generation Wi-Fi standard IEEE 802.11ax. When dual radios are enabled, the AP can provide a wireless data rate of up to 2.976 Gbps to achieve high-speed access experience.
OFDMA High-Density User Access
Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) in IEEE 802.11ax enables the RG-AP820-X to divide a WLAN channel into multiple narrower sub-channels, with each user occupying one or more sub-channels. The RG-AP820-X can schedule services of multiple users, and receive and send packets concurrently. This reduces contention for air interface resources and backoff, shortens the network latency, and improves the network efficiency.
In a high-density deployment and access environment, the average rate per client can be increased to four times that of an 802.11ac client.
Energy Saving and Lower Power Consumption
The RG-AP820-X incorporates various new energy saving technologies, including the single-antenna standby technology, dynamic MIMO power saving technology, enhanced automatic power saving transmission technology, and packet-based power control technology. With these technologies as well as high-performance power design, the RG-AP820-X is energy-efficient while providing high-speed wireless access service.
Comprehensive Security Protection and Ease of Use
Secure User Access
The RG-AP820-X provides various user access authentication modes, including Web-based authentication, 802.1x authentication, MAC Address Bypass (MAB) authentication, and local authentication. It also supports Ruijie Global Security Network (GSN) solution. Compliant with the standard network access control standard, the RG-AP820-X strictly defines a set of network access control policies in terms of user access, authorization, host compliance check, network behavior monitoring, and network attack prevention. These control measures guarantee high network security for authenticated users.
Flexible Virtual AP Technology
Through the virtual AP technology, the RG-AP820-X supports up to 32 virtual APs. Each radio can support a maximum of 16 virtual APs. Network administrators can separately encrypt and isolate subnets or VLANs with the same SSID, and configure a separate authentication mode and encryption mechanism for each SSID.
Comprehensive Wireless Security Protection
The RG-AP820-X used with the RG-WS series wireless controller can provide a series of wireless security protection functions such as Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS), radio interference tracking, rogue AP containment, anti-ARP spoofing, and DHCP protection, to build a secure and reliable wireless network.
Working with Ruijie RG-SNC integrated network management system and RG-WS series ACs, the RG-AP820-X can provide multiple wireless security protection features including Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS), radio interference tracking, rogue AP containment, anti-ARP spoofing, and DHCP protection, to build a secure and reliable wireless network.
Flexible Device Management Modes
Flexible Switching Between Fit and Fat Modes
The RG-AP820-X supports flexible switching between fat and fit modes. In fit mode, the AP can be deployed through Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP). In addition, complete remote management also greatly enhances the O&M management efficiency of a wireless network.
Eweb Management
The RG-AP820-X provides the Eweb for AC and AP management. O&M personnel can complete wireless configuration easily and manage the wireless network in an all-round manner. On the AC Eweb, O&M personnel can manage an AP as well as clients connected to the AP. The rate limits and network access behaviors of clients can be defined, allowing the O&M personnel to plan, operate, and maintain a wireless network easily.
Association with Network Management Software
The RG-AP820-X can be associated with Ruijie RG-SNC network management software that can manage all ACs and APs on a wireless network, including device configuration backup and device status query. The RG-SNC also provides a wireless heat map to display the wireless signal distribution of APs in the actual environment.
