High-speed Wireless Access for Better Experience

Up to 1024 QAM Data Rates

The RG-MA180-L adopts the dual-radio design and complies with the next-generation IEEE 802.11ax standard. It delivers a combined data rate of up to 1.774 Gbps when both radios are enabled, providing high-speed access experience.

High-Density Client Access with OFDMA

The AP features Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) in IEEE 802.11ax. OFDMA enables the AP to divide a WLAN channel into a plurality of narrower sub-channels, with each client occupying one or more sub-channels. The AP allows clients to receive and send packets concurrently through scheduling. This reduces contention for air interface resources and backoff, shortens network latency, and improves network efficiency.

In a high-density deployment and access environment, the average rate per client increases to up to four times that of an IEEE 802.11ac client.

Environmentally-Friendly Design and Lower Power Consumption

The RG-MA180-L incorporates various new power saving technologies, including the single-antenna standby technology, dynamic multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) technology, enhanced automatic power saving transmission technology, and packet-based power control technology. With these technologies as well as high-performance power design, the AP is energy-efficient while providing high-speed wireless access service.

Intelligent Identification

The AP can identify PCs and mobile clients, such as iOS and Android clients. When used with Ruijie network optimization system, it can implement visualized wireless network management based on wireless clients and one-click network optimization.

Intelligent Local Forwarding

The RG-MA180-L integrates intelligent local forwarding technology of Ruijie Networks and eliminates traffic bottleneck of access controllers (ACs). The data forwarding mode of the AP can be pre-configured through Ruijie ACs. The AP determines whether data needs to be forwarded by the AC or be sent to a wired network for data exchange based on the SSID or user VLAN.

The local forwarding technology enables the AP to forward delay-sensitive data that requires real-time high-performance transmission through a wired network. This technology can greatly reduce the traffic forwarding pressure of the AC to better adapt to high-throughput transmission on 802.11ax networks.

Abundant QoS Policies

RG-MA180-L provides abundant QoS policies. It supports bandwidth limiting based on the WLAN, APs, and clients, as well as Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) that defines priorities for different service data. Therefore, it implements immediate transmission of audio and video, and guarantees smooth multimedia services.

The multicast-to-unicast technology supported by the AP solves the problem of video freezing due to packet loss or long latency in Video on Demand (VoD) and other multicast applications on a wireless network. This enhances the experience in the use of multicast video services on wireless networks.

Comprehensive Security Protection and Ease of Use

Secure Client Access

The RG-MA180-L supports a wide range of client access authentication modes, including web authentication, IEEE 802.1X authentication, MAC Address Bypass (MAB) authentication, and local authentication. It also fully supports Ruijie Global Security Network (GSN) solution. Complying with the standard network access control standard, the AP strictly defines a set of network access control policies in terms of client access, authorization, host compliance check, network behavior monitoring, and network attack prevention. These access control policies guarantee high network security for authenticated clients.

Comprehensive Wireless Security Protection

When used with RG-SNC system and RG-WS series AC, the RG-MA180-L provides a set of wireless security protection features, including Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS), radio interference tracking, rogue AP containment, anti-ARP spoofing, and DHCP protection, to build a secure and reliable wireless network.

Multiple Easy-to-Use Authentication Modes

With Ruijie's authentication system or multi-service ACs, the AP supports various efficient and convenient authentication modes such as MAB, SMS authentication, and QR code authentication.

Flexible Device Management

Eweb Management

With the AC web GUI, the RG-MA180-L enables O&M personnel to complete wireless configuration easily, and manage the wireless network uniformly. On the AC web GUI, O&M personnel can manage APs and connected clients, limit the client rates, and restrict network access behaviors of the connected clients. With the GUI, O&M personnel can plan, manage, and maintain wireless networks conveniently.

Association with the Network Management Software

The RG-MA180-L can work with RG-WIS. RG-WIS can manage all ACs and APs on a network, including device configuration backup and device status check. The RG-WIS provides a wireless heat map to show the wireless signal distribution of APs in real-world situations.
