Nomination test of the 10G switch for China Netcom in 2008

The 10G switch of Ruijie Networks passed a series of strict functional tests of China Netcom in 2008 with the intelligent and high availability IP design concept and was successfully nominated.

During the strict tests, a series of functions such as multicast (PIM-SM/DM/SSM, L2 multicast), link convergence, QinQ, spanning tree, MPLS and QoS were tested on RG-S8600, and RG-S8600 in the end was successfully nominated with its fine stability performance.

Multicast function: The L2 multicast IGMP Snooping function test required the switch to support the group addition/deletion function and the group addition/deletion delay was the test focus. The multicast addition delay and the multicast deletion delay provided by Ruijie Networks during the test were 1.055ms and 0.961ms respectively, which were far faster than the 12ms and 15ms of the competitor’s equipment. This can ensure smooth play of video services while the users are watching IPTV.

RSTP link switchover time obtained through the test:

1. Rapid Spanning Tree switchover time: Unplugging: 6.48ms; plugging: 1.28ms

2. Multiple spanning tree switchover time: Consistent with that of the RST

The fast convergence time of RSTP is far faster than 13ms, 87ms and 22ms of the competitor’s equipment. It ensures the fast data forwarding during link switchover.
