In the past six years, the Chinese government has invested more than 3 billion Yuan to build next generation Internet (CNGI) demonstration projects across 30 cities. The Chinese education system has invested 800 million Yuan to purchase next generation Internet IPv6 equipment.
Xie Huanzhong, the director of Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, when explaining the Upgrading Education Infrastructure to IPv6 and Demonstration Projects, said that “It takes courage and initiatives to upgrade networks from IPv4 to IPv6. The research and development capabilities and the customers of colleges and universities are capable of and suitable for the trial commercial use of IPv6 networks.”
As an industry-leading network equipment and solution provider, Ruijie Networks has been devoted to the commercial use of IPv6 technologies. In the recent Global IPv6 and Next Generation Internet Summit 2010, Liu Funeng, the deputy general manager of Education Industry Department of Ruijie Networks, introduced the results of Ruijie Networks in IPv6 technologies and applications to the experts attending the summit. Ruijie Networks can provide complete end-to-end IPv6 solutions and build secure, controllable, manageable, and operable next generation IPv6 campus networks for the education industry.
In 2009, Ruijie Networks widely involved in the IPv6 demonstration projects in the education industry, which were part of the next generation Internet project initiated by the National Development and Reform Commission. Among the 100 universities involved in the CNGI project, 76 purchased the IPv6 equipment from Ruijie Networks. Up to now, 10,166 network devices are running stably in the CNGI-CERNET2 universities.
Ruijie Networks also involved in the trial commercial use of IPv6 network support technologies in the CNGI project and cooperated with universities to work on IPv6 standards. Ruijie Networks cooperated with Shanghai Jiaotong University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology to develop IPv6 network security monitoring system; cooperated with Northeastern University and Tsinghua University to develop large-scale controllable multicast system for IPv6 networks, cooperated with Tsinghua University and Peking University to develop campus network identity authentication system that supports CERNET identification, and involved in the development of critical source address authentication technologies and prototype system, which was a subproject of the Real IPv6 Source Address Authentication Standard System Project organized by Tsinghua University.
Liu Funeng said, Ruijie Networks was capable to provide complete end-to-end IPv6 solutions and build secure, controllable, manageable, and operable next generation IPv6 campus networks for the education industry. Ruijie Networks can deliver trusted cable IPv6 access, integrated wireless IPv6 access, multi-service and high-availability IPv6 backbone networks, high-performance and highly secure IPv6 network portals, integrated and secure IPv6 network management platforms, and large-scale and controllable IPv6 multicast systems.
In 2000, Ruijie Networks began to independently develop its RGOS operating system. Now, the operating system of Ruijie Networks can manage its switches, routers, security products, portals, and wireless products and provide IPv6 solution for network integration and intelligence capabilities.
As an industry-leading network equipment and solution provider, Ruijie Networks has been launching new technologies, products, and solutions through independent development and constant innovation. Looking into the future, Ruijie Networks will provide more innovative products and technologies to improve contribution of networks to service values.
